ABOUT THE PAINTING:
This large scale painting is part of a collection started with sketches in a car in a road trip to the Omani mountains, in the Gulf region. It soon became a series of paintings on canvas and paper, where earth, sand, stone, lush vegetation and ancient weaving traditions permeate through the works, in a series evoking the power of natural movements which transform landscapes. Strong lines evoke the movement of land across the centuries, split apart and transformed by ever changing realms. This collection is about impermanence and beauty and the power of permanent movement.
