Dematerialisation of the art object # 01
Working primarily with my left hand, I lean into the strange trust it demands, an instinctive reliance on the unfamiliar. The marks it leaves are raw, unfettered, almost as if bypassing my conscious self to reach a more instinctual space. Each mark on the canvas becomes an act of negotiation, a balance between intention and spontaneity, where the left hand, so often neglected, becomes the guide. These gestures feel like calligraphic exercises—urgent, exploratory, and imbued with an odd blind confidence on the process. The painting unfolds as a kind of terrain, where colors pulse and dissolve, and forms refuse to be pinned down. It’s a composition suspended in the act of becoming, marks that simultaneously map and unmap the space, engaging in a dialogue between material presence and its dematerialization. This trust in the left hand, the one less rehearsed, makes the process feel charged with a vulnerability that is paradoxically stronger, more authentic, than when I rely on the hand I use every day.
